Beyond Food Foundation
The Beyond Food Foundation inspires people who are at risk of, or who have experienced homelessness, to gain meaningful employment in the catering industry through their ‘Freshlife’ programme and ‘United Kitchen Apprenticeships’.
Both of these programmes use food as a catalyst to build relationships, encouraging people to talk openly, and allowing Beyond Food Foundation to support and challenge people through their development. Their holistic approach not only provides training opportunities but also long-term support, advice and guidance so that each participant or ‘apprentice’ can move on to sustainable employment equipped with the right skills, ability, confidence and attitude.
PwC supports Beyond Food Foundation by providing one-to-one mentoring support for their apprentices and running workshops to help them develop key employability skills such as CV and interview techniques, personal finance management and time keeping.
The offices of the Beyond Food Foundation are based on the third floor of the Fire Station. Simon Boyle, who founded the charity and who is also chef founder of Brigade, can be found working on the ground and first floors of the Fire Station.
